An Introduction to Morgan Owens Heirloom

An Introduction to Morgan Owens Heirloom

Hello and welcome!

If you're reading this, thank you. Thank you for being in my little corner of the internet. I wanted to be able to catch up with all of you that have been here from the beginning while also briefly introducing myself to those that are new here. I plan to keep this blog in hopes that writing can help me heal in my most hurt places.

If you're new here, I'm Morgan! I have two little boys, Eric (7) and Jude (2).

In the past 4 years, I have gone through what most people go through in a lifetime. (this blog is going to be real and raw). There's a lot that I won't talk about just yet but one day, I will. It's my story and my testimony. So with that being said, let's talk about how MOH started.

I started this business in 2018, on accident. It sounds so crazy but that is the only way I see it! In 2018, I purchased an older model canon camera from my brothers company. (He owns zoos..we'll save that for another blog post.)

I quickly fell in love with taking portraits of Eric when he was a baby.

I never put my camera down. I had asked my sister to do a "mama and me session" when my nephew Brady was a baby. It was in the most gorgeous setting. I had set Brady down up against a white wall, laid on my stomach in true obnoxious Morgan fashion, and snapped the most GORGEOUS photo of him looking off. Not until I started editing this session, did it hit me. I was ON TO SOMETHING. Below is a shot from that first session. Once I find the original photo, I will share it here. But hopefully you can see the look I am talking about.

I had zero experience in any kind of studio lighting, but with years of sleepless nights, here we are! Below are a few of my very first portraits. If you visit my Instagram, you can see the difference in these and my current work!

Here is a brief list of what I offer in my heirloom portrait package.

-A session done in your home.. yes, you don't have to change out of your pjs to have portraits done!

-Full access to my complimentary wardrobe curated by me.

-2 free prints included in your sitting fee (which includes up to 3 siblings)

-a beautiful and user friendly online gallery that allows you to view proofs and shop your prints and frames at your own pace.

Once I was happy with where I was in my editing style, then came the printing studio and right after, frames. (We will save my clothing line for another post.)

I wanted so badly to be able to showcase the beautiful portraits I was taking of your sweet babies, I just didn't know where to start! So with MORE sleepless nights and research after research I finally opened my in home printing studio! I hand cut each piece of paper to the size print my client orders, prepare to flawlessness in post processing and then print on fine-art, museum quality paper.

Once I was happy with the way my prints looked... something was missing.

FRAMES!

This just completed my very favorite process. When I see portraits that were taken by me, ready to be hung on a wall forever, my heart just bursts!!! It makes all the traveling and in home sessions worth it and reminds me that this is what I'm supposed to be doing. Creating an easy process for mamas (and dads) so that they can have their babies captured and remembered forever.

For those of you that stuck around, you are truly part of the Morgan Owens Heirloom family and for that I am so so grateful and I will see you on my next post!
XOXO,
